Just start reading the forgotten series and havent been able to put the books down. I think one of the things I like whilst it is grim is that characters you get attached to do die as happens in real life. It does make the end all the more satisfying. Very happy I have discovered MR forbes and his books.

Okay, I finished the book the other night. I enjoyed the story, the writing, and the characters (well at least some of the characters...governor not). The first day or was a little too harrowing for me, launch is supposed to be scariest part of the flight. What saddened me the most was the deaths of so many good people. I know in life stuff like that happens, but I read to escape the real world and all the pain. I like suspense, adrenaline pumping and the sort, but to see Prime lose so many good solders (insert sad shaking head). I hope the next installment will bring a little less sadness and more triumph to the characters.

Just started reading. Nice story and nicely written.
Questions: Why aren't there enough stasis pod for everyone or at least pods to share? And don't you think that the children of the original crews might not want to take up their vocation by the time they reach the new world? They have enough stores to last the entire trip?

Hi Glenn,
Thanks for reading.

With the state of the world, there are only so many resources. Limited resources, limited pods. They can't share them because most will be occupied at the same time (all except 2).

In a survival setting, choices are more limited. It's not about what an individual wants as much as it is the survival of the community.

Yes, it's a big ship, and they have the ability to recycle a lot of resources (There will be more detail on that in book 2).

Cheers,
Michael.
